Fairuza was so inspiring in this film. I cannot tell you the relief, comfort, and excitement I felt as a young teenage girl to see someone on screen that was, well, like me! This was (pre-mass-internet) 1996 and “freaks” (lovingly using this term) were a true rarity, especially in mainstream film. This poster was on my wall as a teen -

Bianca \bi(an)-ca\ as a girl’s name of Italian origin, and the meaning of Bianca is “white, pure.”
Allaine \a-llai-ne\ as a girl’s name is a variant of Alaine (Old German) and Elaine (Greek), and the meaning of Allaine is “precious; sun ray, shining light.”
I was not given a middle name when I was born, but I asked my mother if she had given me one, what would it have been? She told me Allaine, which was her mother’s middle name. In honor of my grandmother and mother I would like to change my stage name from “Bianca Barnett” to “Bianca Allaine.” So, this will be a process.
